About the Role:

You will pioneer and play a key role in delivering day-to-day security operations ensuring CDC’s property, assets and systems are secure and comply with customer, government, and security industry standards. You will work alongside a talented, highly collaborative team in New Zealand & Australia to delivery security framework, reducing security associated risks and lead the development of security capability of our growing New Zealand Data Centre operations. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of CDC NZ’s Security policies and plans 
  • Responsible for ensuring sensitive and classified materials is managed in accordance with the CDC’s Security requirements 
  • Acting as CDC NZ Facilities Security Officer (FSO) 
  • Managing and maintaining the Security Clearance requirements and Security Register for the CDC Team and approved contractors.
  • Facilitating annual security awareness training of personnel.
  • Reporting security incidents and fraud incidents, and contact reports
  • Contributing to yearly assurance activities to support the Security Director.
  • Management and coordination of CDC NZ security correspondence for security requests from the CDC Team, Clients, and approved contractors.
  • Working with all the CDC Security delivery teams to ensure high level of security is maintained 
  • Direct and manage outsourced security guards to run daily data centre operations.
  • Participate in re-occurring data centre security audits and reviews.
  • Provide subject matter expert input to design of new security construction projects.

About You:

You have good understanding of the NZ Government Protective Security Requirements with strong commitment to security, knowledge of potential risks and threats to safety.

Other desirable skills include: 

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing, maintaining and improving security in alignment with NZ Government Protective Security Requirements 
  • Ability to influence and inspire others by being a specialist within the security space.
  • High level of customer focus 
  • Self-Starter with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a larger team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication with an understanding of the importance of security to Data Centre or critical infrastructure operations

Essential:

New Zealand citizenship and ability to obtain a National Security Clearance
