About the Role:

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience of data centre or critical facilities experience with a deep knowledge of critical building systems including electrical and mechanical configurations, fire protection, building management systems, rack management, design and installation, with a good understanding of high-density data centre power, cooling approaches and technologies. Similar experience from a 24/7 critical facility is highly desired.

You will possess exceptional team management, planning, organising and analytical skills with experience coordinating with peering groups covering Project Management, Engineering, ICT and Human Resources. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Provides strategic guidance and direction to drive operational excellence
  • Ownership of budgets, and implements resources to complete maintenance and project associated within the operation of the facilities
  • Delivers performance reporting to senior managers monthly and as requested.
  • Lead the teams to achieve CDC’s required standards, KPI’s and SLA’s.
  • Works in collaboration with their peers and manager, to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.
  • Leads team in working safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance.
  • Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is completed as activities are undertaken and completed.
  • Lead the transition of new infrastructure builds and team’s readiness 
  • Reviews and approves Change Management requests and Method of Procedures 
  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during complex or severe customer-impacting incidents
  • Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction to facilities and services staff
  • Make recommendations to management and drive incident resolution
  • Lead the cross-functional team of subject matter experts and managers
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of new processes and policies deployed at the Data Centres.
  • Enable and support coordinated efforts that impact global timelines for retrofits, decommissions, and new construction within the Site or wider region.

About You:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Critical Environments requiring 100% availability
  • 7+ years’ experience in Leadership / Management roles
  • Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degree in Management / Engineering or Extensive related industry field experience
  • Deep understanding of Data Centre infrastructure or related critical environments
  • Demonstrated financial experience in owning and administrating OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical and non-technical staff.
  • High attention to detail and logical/analytical thought processes
  • The ability to resolve issues and work to tight deadlines within a changing environment

Essential:

Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
